I am doing this 3 day abundance challenge with Preston Smiles & Alexi Panos.
One of our assignments is to write down a list of 25 of our most memorable moments throughout our whole life (and not only write them - but feel them - remember them in the body - as if I was there right now - sound like something us self healers are all familiar with? Hint: brain retraining)
I know at first this sounds like a lot to think about right? 25!!!! But the craziest thing ... as I started writing this list the memories just started flowing -so. many. of. them! So many! I went over the 25 and I had a moment where I felt so connected to each moment as if it was yesterday - even my childhood moments...and in the end - I realized that most of these moments weren't these huge extravagant events.. I mean some things kind of happened during extravagant moments but it wasn't the extravagance that made it most memorable.
The themes I saw were CONNECTIONS. Whether it was magical moments of connecting and being in tune with nature, appreciating the beauty of our Earth, or whether it was moments of being in connection with a loved one, creating a moment or experience together. Some big, some small.
I want to share some of my moments with you & I hope that you will do this exercise as well and I would LOVE to hear even 5 of yours! Would you be willing to share with me? IF you choose to share with me, as I read yours, I can have my own brain retraining, creative visualizing moment, where I get to be there with you. As you read through my list, see if you can do the same, imagine being in these moments and how they would feel for you!
1. Swimming ALL day everyday all summer long with my cousin in my grandparent's pool - sunshine, blue skies, warm days, laughter and pruned fingertips!
2. Playing barbies for endless hours with my childhood best friend - imagining, make believing, creating and being complete in the now, carefree, not a worry in the world!
3. A NYE party I was with a big giant jumpy gym for adults and just spending hours in the night jumping and laughing, feeling the vibration of the music all around me. Bliss <3
4. Sitting on my grandma's lap (who was my best friend) watching and helping her play solitaire for hours next to the big bay window with the sunshine peaking in! Feeling safe and at peace.
5. An Apple Jacks eating contest with my Uncle Tom. Laughter.. .mouth full of Apple Jacks and milk, belly full, so much fun!!! love how he plays with me.
6. My 6th birthday party - Uncle Tom dresses up as a clown - my WHOLE class comes to my party and it feels magical, surrounded by love and connection and play.
7. Getting my first dinosaur book in the mail as a little girl, when I thought it came from somewhere in the other side of the world, because I did a balloon launch with the book request inside... this was a mystical magical moment.
8. Spontaneous camping trick from SD into the Baja coast of Mexico with one of my partners. Such an adventure! Beautiful coast line, beautiful people.
9. Spontaneous camping trip in Northern California into Redwoods, and Gold's Bluff beach - bear crossings - where my heard truly discovered HOW much nature meant to me in every capacity. Loved allowing flow - no plan - just played everyday by ear and trusted.
10. The 1st and only snow board lesson I had, where it finally clicked and I got it. This was huge because snow boarding was a dream of mine and it felt magical to witness my body be able to do something well that I wanted for so long! The top of the Moutains are a happy place.
11. Picking up Mowgli, my first bulldog, up from the airport. He was the cutest little 7# fur baby and he was mine. All the way home he yipped and kept trying to eat my hair. It was pure and complete love at first sight. It was the first moment of my life that I knew I was living for more than myself.
12. TREVOR HALL concerts! Everyone is magical - but this past Friday 7.13/.23 topped them all. Torrential storm that had us all afraid it would be cancelled that turned into magic. The temps cooled down to perfection. The most wonderful venue - a giant cozy park. Not crowded, perfect acoustics, long violin solos, just the perfect mix of music in the park with friends. I smiled so hard for so many hours my jaw hurt. It was pure bliss. Medicine.
13. My walks with Abigail Rose, my senior bulldog, along the Creek trail during covid. We spent hours just walking. It was pure bliss. It made me appreciate the simplicity of the beauty I was surrounded by. It was peaceful and it was good for both of ours souls. This became an integral part of my healing during the thick of my brain retraining days with DNRS.
14. My very first time hiking - which happened to be up Yosemite Falls. Every step felt like the hardest thing I have ever done but when I got to the top and looked out and down my heart literally melted with pure joy, gratitude and AWE. This world is so captivating and beautiful beyond words, and I was so proud of myself for making it to the top.
15. The last time I hiked up Yosemite falls in my record time and literally did a trail run all the way down. I felt like I was in the best physical shape of my life and it was so incredibly liberating. I was beyond proud of myself and felt so confident in my skin. What a huge accomplishment.
16. My first time doing hand stand push ups... it was this ah hah moment of what was possible if I put my mind to it. It was one of many times that I literally suprised myself and how capable I am. Feeling sooooooo strong and fit.
17. My 6 months of traveling through Central America. There were so many blissful, perfect, magical moments but a few of my highlights were 17.1 riding on the bus across guatamala's country side - literally brought to tears by the beauty and the vast mountain sides. It touched my heart in ways there are no words. 17.2 Learning how to make jewelry in El Tunco with a local jewelry maker who sold his jewelry on the sidewalk. 17.3 Bonding with a friend I made Couchsurfing, Saul, and his family - being touched by the kindness and generosity of strangers who opened their door and hearts to me, 17.4 getting to ride a 2 seater bicycle 11 miles over the border of Belize and Guatemala - a once in a life time kind of experience, seeing the countryside on bicycle, bonding with someone I only met the day before, and 17.5 spending time with a sloth, because new creatures are so peculiar and just amazing - left me in awe. Oh shoot... I can't forget 17.6 hitch hiking in the middle of a foreign country and ending up meeting people who would become beautiful friends! My adventurous spirit was in full force this trip, but I also made many memorable moments in pure simplicity like sitting in a cafe reading or journaling or people watching.
18. Moving to Florida - a new state, a new town, a new house - all site unseen... there was so many moments of Awe and adventure and just excitement from all the new new new and the possibility It all created.
19. My first California Roots Festival. Being on stage for my first time at a concert, meeting my favorite band ever, getting to go to after hours parties with these bands - it was magic - one of those "I can't believe this is real" moments - can someone pinch me now? hahahahahahahah Bliss.
20. The first time I ever saw mountains & the first time I saw a cactus - the world is so cool. A mountain in real life is so different from Scooby doo! Wow!!!!!!
21. Getting my baby Coconut. She showed up at my door and I knew the moment we met that we were meant to be together. EVERY moment of snuggles and every single moment she rests her chin on me is magic, pure love, love and gratitude.
22. The first time my Dad came to visit me in California and we truly bonded - we did this amazing motorcycle ride through the countryside and I got to experience my home in a different way than ever before. The wind, the views, the connections we made.
23. My dad coming to Cali in 2019 to visit me and my bro and sis - all of us together - breweries, lakes, paddle boarding - laughter - love - connection
